Privacy Policy

Your Classroom Academy ("we," "us," "the Academy") is committed to handling your data carefully and explaining plainly what we do with it. This policy covers our website, the Roster community platform, our schoolwide programs, and our email communications.
By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
1. Who we are
Your Classroom Academy is a professional learning company based in Paso Robles, California. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

2. What data we collect
Account and profile information:
● Name, email address, school or district affiliation, grade level and content area, and anything else you choose to add to your Roster profile, including a photo.
Payment information:
● Subscription plan, billing history, and renewal dates. We do not store your full card number. Card details are handled directly by our payment processor.
Professional learning data:
● Self-check responses, confidence ratings, strategies tried, badges earned, and reflections you submit.
● Survey and feedback responses.
Community content:
● Posts, comments, replies, and reactions you create inside Roster. This content is visible to other members of the spaces you belong to.
Technical and usage data:
● Pages visited, resources opened, session times, device and browser type, and IP address.
● Email engagement, such as whether a weekly slide deck email was opened.
3. How we use your data
● To provide the service: give you access, deliver your weekly slide decks, run live sessions, and show you your own dashboard.
● To personalize what you receive, including sending you slide decks for your own content area and grade band rather than all of them.
● To process payments and manage renewals.
● To provide aggregated insight to a school or district that has purchased schoolwide access. See Section 6.
● To improve our materials and understand which strategies are working.
● To communicate with you about your membership, new releases, and community activity.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Service providers
We use third-party services to operate the Academy. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
● Community platform: hosts Roster, including your profile, posts, and membership.
● Payment processing: handles subscription billing and card details.
● Website hosting: runs yourclassroomacademy.com.
● Data and analytics tools: store program records and self-check responses.
● Email and newsletter services: send your weekly decks and other communications.
● Scheduling: books coaching conversations.
If you enroll in university credit through the University of San Diego, that is a separate arrangement between you and the university, governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
5. Community content and visibility
Roster is a community. What you post is visible to other members of the spaces you belong to, along with your name and profile photo.
Please do not post student names, student work that identifies a student, or confidential personnel information. Our systems are not designed to hold student records.
We will not publish your name, your school, or anything identifying you outside Roster without asking you first. If we would like to quote something you wrote in our marketing, we will ask.
If you leave, your posts remain visible inside Roster unless you ask us to remove them. Email us and we will delete them.
6. What school and district administrators can see
Where a school or district has purchased schoolwide access, designated representatives at that site can see:
● Aggregated progress across the site, such as how many strategies have been tried and how confidence has moved overall.
● Individual progress for teachers who have opted in to observation and verified fluency.
Administrators cannot see what you write in discussion spaces, and they cannot see the content of one-to-one coaching conversations.
If you are an individual member who joined on your own, your data is not shared with your school.
7. Cookies and tracking
Our website and the Roster platform use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may stop parts of the service working.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertising networks.
8. How long we keep your data
● Account and profile data: for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return.
● Payment records: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
● Community posts: until you ask us to remove them.
● Professional learning data: for as long as your membership is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we may keep anonymized, aggregated records that cannot identify you.
9. Your rights
You may:
● Access your data: request a copy of what we hold about you.
● Correct your data: ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
● Delete your data: ask us to remove your personal data, subject to legal and accounting requirements.
● Withdraw consent: opt out of non-essential communications at any time using the unsubscribe link, or by emailing us.
● Object or restrict: ask us to stop or limit particular uses of your data.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under that law.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@yourclassroomacademy.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls limiting who at the Academy can see member information. Our service providers maintain their own security programs.
No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.
11. Children
Our services are for educators and school leaders. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Please do not enter student information into any Academy system.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date and will notify members by email where the change is significant.
